The last two months of the year are when audiences are most active and creators are most stretched. Gift guides, launches, sales, year-end posts and family commitments all pile up. Batch recording in October or early November lets you stay consistent without recording in the middle of it all.

Plan the calendar first

List the dates that matter for your audience: Black Friday, Cyber Monday, product launches, end-of-year deadlines, the holidays themselves and New Year. Then plan one video for each week, plus any key dates.

  • Year-end lessons or recap. See our year-in-review script guide.

Write all the scripts first

Write every script in one or two sessions before you record. It keeps the tone consistent and makes recording faster. Keep each one tight: hook, value, ending.

Record in one session

Set up once, record everything. Change your top or background between videos so they do not look identical. Our batch recording guide covers the setup, including how to pace yourself across many takes.

With scripts in a prompter app, moving from one to the next is quick. In Cue, your scripts live in one library, and a countdown before each take gives you a moment to reset.

Leave room for live moments

Batching does not mean every post is pre-recorded. Leave one slot every week or two for something timely or spontaneous. That keeps your feed feeling current.

Edit in batches too

Edit all the videos in one or two sessions. Write captions and post text at the same time. Schedule what you can.

Protect the holidays

The point of batching is to give yourself time off. Schedule posts through the holiday break, then step away. Your audience will not notice you were not recording on 26 December.

Write the post text at the same time

When you write each script, also draft the caption and post text. You are already thinking about the topic, so it takes a fraction of the time it would later. Store them together, so each finished video has everything it needs to go out.

Keep a simple tracker

A short list of each video, its planned date and its status (scripted, recorded, edited, scheduled) keeps the season manageable. It does not need special software. A note or a simple spreadsheet is enough.

Start now

The earlier you batch, the calmer December will be. Even three videos recorded in advance can make a difference.

Frequently asked questions

When should I record holiday content?

Ideally in October or early November, so you are not recording during the busiest weeks.

How many videos should I batch?

Enough to cover your posting schedule for six to eight weeks. For weekly posting, that is six to eight videos.

Will batched content feel out of date?

Not if you plan topics that do not depend on breaking news, and leave room for one or two timely posts.
