Last updated September 8, 2026. Cue is an offline-first teleprompter. Scripts, presenter preferences, recording metadata, videos, and Voice Follow audio stay on your device.

Camera, microphone, and overlays

Camera access is requested when you open camera mode. Microphone access is requested when you record or enable Voice Follow. Voice Follow processes speech on the device to move through your script; audio is discarded as it is processed and is not saved or transmitted. “Display over other apps” is requested only when you choose the optional call overlay.

Text you bring into Cue

Text shared to Cue from another app, and a .txt file shared to it, are read once, turned into a script on your device, and not sent anywhere. “Paste as new script” reads the clipboard only when you tap it. Cue never reads the clipboard in the background.

Advertising

Cue can show one banner ad, provided by Google Mobile Ads, at the bottom of the Script Library. Ads are not shown while writing, presenting, using the camera, reviewing recordings, or using the call overlay.

Google and its advertising partners may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, general location inferred from IP, ad interactions, and diagnostic information to provide, measure, and protect advertising. Cue uses Google’s User Messaging Platform for privacy choices where required. You can review those choices under Settings → Advertising when Google requires the option. Your choices

You can delete scripts and recordings inside Cue, revoke permissions in Android Settings, close and disable the overlay, and review available ad privacy choices in Cue Settings. Uninstalling Cue removes app-local data; gallery exports remain until you delete them from the gallery.

Website analytics

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate site traffic. Website analytics are separate from the Android app; Cue does not include an app analytics SDK.
